I can't remember if I mentioned it but a couple of months ago I joined a streaming team called Game On Australia. With all the shit that's going on right now we wanted to do something positive. So from next Wednesday evening we're going live 24 hours a day for two weeks! We'll be featuring lots of different Australian streamers doing a variety of different things (we've got a guy that can play the saxophone). We're running mini tournaments every day as well. It's going to be epic! I'm super excited for it!

I wouldn't mind working from home but they would probably expect more productivity/output.

The Top Dog at our workplace has hinted that NSW will come under lockdown. Must have some insider knowledge with the state government. :/

I think it will happen during the NSW school holidays.

Time stock up on food.

So all The Last Of Us 2 cutscenes were leaked by a disgrunted employee at Naughty Dog. Apparently they were under/not paying their staff.

Also, on Twitter, Disney is trying to say they own all the tweets that use #MayThe4th

Sitting back to watch the world burn with popcorn/10

In the meantime my increased Austudy payment will be coming in this week. I'll finally be able to buy that laptop I want for study/work, it'll be way better than doing it at my desktop entertainment computer.

I've mentioned a bit (ok, a lot) on here about my involvement with a group called Game On Australia. My role with them is basically that I stream with them once a week and interact with the community. But it's so much more than that.

One of the GOA founders, Pete Curulli recently did an interview that perfectly sums up what GOA is and what it does. It's become such a bit part of my life in such a short space of time and I'm proud of the work we're doing and the community we're building. https://influencing.com/au/story/perth-no-limit-for-game-on-aus-growth

That was a really good interview. I've seen other businesses struggle being based in WA, but i think this whole coronavirus thing is helping shorten distance in a way.

The Quote "The thing is we’re fans just like our audience is, so we get such a kick out of it" shows why they continue to grow and be successful

The good thing about GOA is that while the main guy is based in Perth we've got a crew over east too. Our COO is in Brisbane, our Sales guy in is Victoria, hell our Tournament Manager is in NZ.

I think this is one case where COVID-19 helped a lot. When it first hit we did a 2 week 24-hour a day stream event and I think that got us noticed by a lot of people. Our Twitch followers were around 1000 before the event in April and I think we're almost at 1700 now. Our Discord is pumping and we've got something going on for Twitch every day of the week. The weekly live podcast is a blast and there's other shows that will be coming on board soon as well.

The PUBG tournament we're running this weekend has PLE Computers and Logitech as major sponsors. PLE have given us $1000 in prizes for the competitors and Logitech have given us some accessories that's we're giving away to people who watch. It's amazing having so many prizes we can give away stuff to the audience as well.

Behind the scenes our game/tech reviewers are getting a lot of offers to review really big games (under heavy NDAs).

I'm actually getting a little nervous with all the stuff going on that I'm not performing as well as I could be. I think they brought me on because the guys they had before that were mainly PC players and I streamed a lot of Nintendo stuff, and I appealed to a different type of viewer, but I've gone away from that recently. I think I need to get back to that.

I really want to make my own channel work as well. The end goal would be to go full time but I did the sums and I'd need about 1500 subs a month to make that work (hopefully I can get to a point where sponsorships might make it more viable). I'd settle for being able to drop back to part time right now though.

I've never really understood what people meant when they said they were passionate about their work. All the jobs I've had I've liked for the most part but nothing's ever felt like this before. The new job euphoria I've had in the past and the various volunteer jobs I've done have never had this feel about them. I really like this and if I could transition into being a content creator career I would absolutely love it. Just gotta keep plugging away and hopefully make some headway.

Went and got my tax done today and I'm getting back significantly more than I was expecting, so I went straight out and bought myself a new PC. Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, 500GB M2 drive with a 2TB HDD for storage. Debating whether or not I grab an optical drive for it (I think I'm going to for some retro gaming) and going to take the RTX 2060 out of my current PC and put it in the new one.

Might even have enough saved by the start of next month for my VR kit!

Sounds similar specs to the PC I built last year, except I put a 2070 Super in there.
