It's actually a lot scummier a reason than that. Watch this.

Sounds very similar to what happened to Dick Smith stores here. A private equity firm bought them off Woolworths, devalued stock to less than what it was actually bought for, sold it at a 'profit' (more than what they valued the stock for but still less than what it was originally bought for), put it on the market saying 'look how much money it's making', offloaded it to some poor sap then the company folded.

One thing that video spends a lot of time talking about that I don't get is this attachment to companies. Maybe I'm just not emotionally available enough to understand it but the purpose of companies is to make money not be your friend. They sure as hell don't get emotional about you but I guess the marketing team has done their job right if you feel sad for the closing of a company. The only thing sad about it is all the people that don't have jobs anymore.

Mine arrived yesterday as well!

They could have packed it better with more air cushions inside and just two straps to keep the box together.

Got tired of waiting for Voltron to show up and bought a Lego TIE Fighter. Put it on my Star Wars shelf.

I've watched video reviews of the Lego Voltron set and yeah, damn good.

I'm not into either Lego or Voltron enough to warrant getting it though.

Finally got a free weekend to make the Lego Voltron. Holy hell it's awesome. The way it all went together and how you can transform it from the 5 lions into Voltron and back again is pure design genius. Worth the money. I've put him next to his older, smaller brother.

Lego Voltron looks way better than the original.

It's like the difference between new Transformer toys and the old originals.

Let's see how good you look compared to your kids in 25 years' time. Doesn't help that all the white bits on him are now yellow and the bits that were silver have a tarnished look as well (not that they were actual silver, just silver coloured)

Lego Voltron does look awesome though. Although I have to say I'm a little disappointed they didn't make little Lego figures for the pilots and added cockpits for them, but that's a little gripe. The fact that they made it so it could be put together and pulled apart in a matter of minutes is an engineering marvel. I don't really like the way it stands either (looks off balance) but I couldn't find a way to make it better.

Can't believe you still have a Voltron from way back!

They released a die-cast version of Voltron in Japan.

Why would you do something like that? Now I have to buy the die cast Voltron as well! Son of a bitch!

The SNES glass was a Christmas present from my housemate. Not something I would have bought for myself. Right now it's a container for all the spare bits of Lego I have left over from various things.

I really need to clean up that second shelf of the bookcase. The top shelf and the top of the bookcase are looking awesome but the second shelf (and the bottom shelf really but you can't see that) is messy as fuck. I had great plans to get organised and use those trays for my paperwork but I think I just need to get rid of them and make more room for awesome collectible stuff.

I've been thinking about getting my meals delivered so I don't have to do too much meal prep. Been thinking Lite and Easy or that Hello Fresh that I've seen advertised a bit. Anybody use them?

Yeah, my parents did Lite and Easy for a while. A friend of mine uses Hello Fresh and it looks pretty good. I think the advantage of Hello Fresh is that they send you the ingredients and you still cook it, so they can vary the menu a lot more, whereas Lite and Easy are the prepackaged stuff so there's not a lot of variety I feel.

I dunno. I'm old school, I just go to the shops and get whatever I like for dinner. The shopping centre is only two blocks away so having it come in the mail seems weird to me.
