Thanks for the Hyper scans I was trying to look them up the other day.

I finally did it. I am no longer in the cult of Apple, I have crossed the picket lines and joined team Samsung. Bought a Samsung S10e over the weekend, spending the last of the tax dollars. It was surprisingly easy to transfer my stuff from the iPhone to my S10e. It came with an adapter so I could connect the iPhone directly to the S10e and it copied everything across, contacts, music, photos, it even had a look to see if all the apps I had on the iPhone were available on the Google Play store and if they were it downloaded them. I was expecting to have to do a lot of that manually but it was painless. I've only had a buy a couple of the apps (because they weren't free) but the big ones (like the TomTom app) are subscription services now so you just chuck in your logon details and you get everything again.

So far the only complaint I have is that my daily streak doesn't carry over in some of the games I play, and some of them I've had to start again, but if that's the only complaint I have, it's been a good transition.

Also, if anybody has any neat tricks you can do on Android phones (or recommendations for syncing music) can you please let me know? I've downloaded an app called Phonograph on the recommendation of a couple of sites and it's ok so far, but I haven't tried to sync anything yet and would like to know what other people have experienced there and if there's an easy way to do it. It may have been a bloated mess but I've been spoiled with the way iTunes synced music to my phone.

Samsung cloud service gives users 15GB. :(

Would love to go over to Android but don't want to rebuy apps and some of the apps I use the most aren't available on the Google Play store.

Stuck in the Apple ecosystem. :(

Seriously thought about buying a green screen for my streaming, but I already spent like $300 on a Stream Deck and a decent mic, I can't really afford to spend another $180 on a green screen.

Thing is I'd need to get two fairly powerful lights to go with it too, which I defiantly can't afford right now. Might see if I can get something cheap in the boxing day sales.

As in Brand new, or new to you?

As in brand new, which I’m lead to believe is a dumb financial decision.

I’ve got two months before my current car rego expires, so I’m not in a huge rush. I’m going to go look at some
Mazda’s tomorrow.

I'm planning to buy a new car next year.

I don't think buying brand new is necessarily a bad financial decision if you're going to keep the car long term (like over 10 years).

People say "It loses value as soon as you drive it out of the car yard" but you're not selling it the instant you drive it out of the car yard so who gives a fuck?

I’ve driven my current car for ten years, and I don’t have a family to support so I don’t really feel bad about spending the money. I test drove a new Mazda 3 today so now my ancient car feels like a piece of shit. Not sure if I want to pull the trigger on it, or wait a few months for the new CX-30.

The new CX-30 looks good. I'd wait for it to be released and take it for a test drive. If you don't like it, get the Mazda 3. Always good to have options.

That's looking like the plan. Unsure what class I'd want at this stage, even the base models of both look okay.
